Hunter gets the F.A. of "G.R.I.T.S." V10 Flagstaff Mountain, CO
About 8 years ago Hunter Damiani climbed the first ascent of "G.R.I.T.S." (Girls Raised In The South), he went back about a week ago to re-chalk the problem and most likely be the first person to climb on it since his send 8 years ago (the boulder is NEVER chalked, and I don't think its ever been repeated, do you know???). The line was originally done by Rob Candelaria using the other giant boulder/pedestal for feet and dubbed the climb "South Overhang" V3. Hunter's new version, "G.R.I.T.S. climbs "South Overhang" without using the giant pedestal for your feet. Being from the south where most pedestals are off Hunter wanted to keep that tradition and climb the "souther style" sloper line in its purest form/without using the other boulder/pedestal. The problem starts on a two finger right hand crystal, and a terrible sloper pinch for your left hand. You campus to a left hand sloper then continue campusing to a right hand with multiple bumps to a brutal "southern style" beached whale top out. Hopefully now more people will get on this unique sloper line there really is nothing else like it on Flagstaff!
