World Cup Bouldering 2012: Log-Dragomer

posted by dpm on 04/23/2012

The second event of the World Cup Bouldering Circuit came to a close yesterday in Log-Dragomer, Slovenia with top podium spots for Russian Rustam Gelmanov and hometown favorite Mina Markovic. 2nd place for the men went to last year’s overall winner Austrian Kilian Fischuber with Germany’s Thomas Tauporn taking 3rd.

Markovic seems to be the one to watch this year for the ladies. She’s off to a good start with a clear victory in this event after topping out four problems. In comparison, 2nd place winner Shauna Coxsey of the UK and 3rd place winner Anna Stöhr of Austria both topped only two of the problems. A few Americans were representing as well. Ethan Pringle and Angie Payne both walked away in 31st. Despite an illness just days before the event, Alex Puccio recovered enough to place 16th.
