Vote for the SCC to Win 250K grant from Pepsi

The South Eastern Climbers Coalition has entered the Pepsi Refresh Contest and could win a 250,000 dollar grant with your help!  The SCC's mission as stated on the Pepsi Refresh page:


Award winning Southeastern Climbers Coalition is committed to preserving climbing areas for future generations to enjoy via negotiating access with private, corporate, and government land owners. The SCC has an exemplary record of land stewardship. Through the Pepsi Refresh Grant Program, it hopes to purchase and preserve land, as well as establish and maintain trails throughout southeastern climbing areas.


  • LAND ACQUISITION IN ALABAMA: 40 wooded acres strewn with boulders and cliffside. It has at least 100 established boulder problems that range from rating v0 to v12, with the potential for much more recreational development. 
  • LAND ACQUISITION IN TENNESSEE: 38 wooded acres with cliff lines and boulders, butting directly to Cumberland State Scenic Trail Park and overlooks 2 gorges. Preservation of threatened Flowering Mountain Skullcap. 
  • Establish trails and parking for newly acquired land. 
  • Trail maintenance/repair throughout southeast.
