Paul Robinson continues to check off the hardest lines in Switzerland with his latest send.
Apparently, with good temps, psyche, and bullet skin anything is possible, Paul Robinson proves this as he has dispatched yet another Switzerland test piece with an ascent of From Dirt Grows the Flowers (V15). After several days of effort and beta from Mickey Page, Paul finally put this problem to rest. . .with a twist. Both Paul and Mickey topped the problem out utilizing what they call the “left variant”.
The “left variant” traverses left to top out and neglects the original mantle put up by Dave Graham. However, Paul, practicing some rather good ethics, called Dave and discussed the left exit and both agreed that the problem was similar and the new “left variant” was in good form. Congrats Paul!
If the weather and Paul's psyche continue to be aligned, we may be looking at the possible third ascent of The Story of Two Worlds Paul is working on this now). Paul has a week left in Ticino before he flies to Font and this problem is at the top of the list.
In other news, Michael Caminatti sent The Dagger V14 and young Niccolo Ceria sent Boogalaga V13 as well. Michael’s ascent to The Dagger and Paul’s ascent of From Dirt Grows Flowers was captured by budding videographer Haroun Souirji. Haroun is currently working on the film Better Than Chocolate which already has an impressive cast. These ascents undoubtedly will be added to the growing number of hard boulder problems featured in the film.
