Before toasting to the New Year Paul Robinson made a fast, one-session ascent of Kheops Assis V14.

Paul Robinson finished off another calendar year with a quick, one-session ascent of Antoine Vandeputte's Khéops Assis, V14 at Cuvier Rempart, Fontainebleau. Paul began his day working on Gecko Assis; however, the boulder was too wet so he began working on the balancy Kheops Assis.

Initially, Paul struggled with the stand-start but after a couple of attempts he was able to send the problem from the sit. Paul spoke about the unique crux on Kheops stating, “climbing on Kheops Assis is very technical and requires a lot of balance and technique to execute the crux movements. In the beginning of the session I thought there was no way I would be able to do it in one session, but once I figured out the beta and body position I wanted to use, it all started to come together. Once I did the stand start I just got really psyched and linked the whole thing.”
Way to ring in the New Year Paul!

Update:  Adding to his already impressive European ticklist, Paul has completed Gecko Assis (V14) at Fontainebleau, France.  Paul's list of ascents has become staggering in the four months he's spent in Europe and is quite likely the most successful single trip an American boulderer has had across the pond.  Keep it up Paul!
