What it must be like to have mutant strength. To be able to walk a solid 8c route while nursing a shoulder injury and sitting out bad weather. For Patxi this seems to be an everyday thing. Still nursing a shoulder injury Patxi’s plan was simple - to get in a few climbs in order to test the limits of his shoulder.
However, what started out as a warm up quickly changed into something else entirely. Patxi Usobiaga quickly strolled up the 8a opening sequence then floated through the crimpy 8c crux and clipped the chains on Absinth, a solid 8c route in Kufstein, Austria.
To add to his tick list he also had just came off a 7th place finish at the Arco Rock Master and went on to onsight Johnny Walker Spezial 8b and dispatched Caramello, 8b.
