Nalle Hukkataival Hikes The Swarm  and Mandala SDS (V14)

Nalle makes short work of some of the hardest lines the east side of the Sierras has to offer.

 

Nalle Hukkataival seems to be getting back into shape after taking a small hiatus. Nalle, along with Chuck Fryberger traveled to Bishop this week to sample the best lines California has to offer and test his strength. When most people travel to a new area they generally like to get situated into the climbing style of the locale before they go after the double-digits. However, Nalle is not most people. On his second-day in the Milks the European super-power went after one of the hardest lines in Bishop, The Swarm V13/14. 

After hiking up to the block and sussing out some beta he quickly dispatched this proud line in under 30 minutes. Not bad for someone who had been pulling on plastic for months. Congrats Nalle!

Update!  After his ascent of The Swarm, Nalle returned to the Buttermilks the very next day for a one day ascent of Mandala sit start (V14).  With plenty of time left in the states it will be interesting to see what Nalle is able to accomplish.  Everyone seems to be asking the question, "Will he try Paul Robinson's Lucid Dreaming (V16)?
