Liuyong Bang Gets the Second Ascent of Spicy Noodle 5.14c

Black Diamond athlete Liuyong Bang has made the second ascent of Chris Sharma’s Spicy Noodle (8c+) in Yangshuo, China.

 

 

 

Not much is known about how long Liuyong has been working on the route all we know is that he has nabbed the second ascent. The line was put up by Chris Sharma during his Evolve Tour about two years ago. Currently, it stands out as one of the hardest lines in the area. Liuyong wrote that a key hold had broken and he now believes the line goes at 5.14c. Only time and numerous repeats will tell if the grade will hold.  Liuyong, or Abond as his friends know him, is the first Chinese man to climb the grade of 5.14c. Congrats!
