Kairn reports that German Daniel Jung has completed La Rambla (9a+/5.15a) in Siurana, Spain. Jung was getting close last winter but got shut down by the end of the season before finishing it. His ascent of the famous route is reportedly the 11th. Click the image below for a nice video from last year of Jung’s battle for the redpoint.

Adam Ondra has added another 9a/5.14d to Spain with the first ascent of a project bolted by David Gambus at Roc Galliner. On his 8a.nu scorecard, Adam says, “Amazing line to the left Ni Blog Ni Facebook. Slightly overhanging face on crimps. Unique place totally worth the hike. 3 goes.”

Ramon Julian has added another impressive onsight to his resume with Fish Eye (8c/5.14b) at Oliana, Spain. 8a.nu reports that this is the 2nd onsight of the route after Klemen Becan. Overall, it marks Ramon’s fifth 8c onsight. His hardest onsight was at Rifle, Colorado in 2011 when he onsighted The Crew (5.14c).

17-year-old Piotr Schaab, of Poland, redpointed Directa Cornualles (8c+/5.14c) at Siurana. Originally given the grade of 8c, Piotr suggested 8c+ on 8a.nu and wrote, “Unique moves!! A new crux appeared after one hold broke out just after the good rest in the middle. It seemed more like an 8c+ to us (6 Polish strong guys!!) as it was considered to be a hard 8c before.” Schaab has previously climbed two 9a’s; Cabane au Canada at Rawyl, Switzerland and Era Vella at Margalef, Spain as well as five other 8c+ routes.
