Ethan does not show any signs of slowing as he has claimed what is likely the 3rd ascent of Spicy Noodle (5.14c).

The limestone sport climbing in Yangshuo seems to fit Ethan’s style perfectly as he has made a quick ascent of Chris Sharma’s Spicy Noodle (5.14c). This ascent may likely be the routes 3rd after Chris, and local climber Liu ‘Abond’ Yongbang. The line, which was first pioneered by Sharma during his Evolve shoe tour, is one of the most striking in the area and seems to have kept its grade of 5.14c after repeaters have not suggested a downgrade. It is currently the hardest route in China.

Ethan also ticked French Gangsta (5.14b) and flashed both Thunder (5.14a) and Sea of Tranquility (5.13d). Pringle has 2 ½ weeks left on his excursion in China and at the top of his tick list is an unsent Sharma project known as Dumpling of All Evil and another line dubbed The Angry Chimp Project.

Ethan seems to be taking his time enjoying the climbing in the area as he put off sending Spicy Noodle because he wanted to savor what he calls, “the best line I have seen here.”
