Ethan Pringle Opens Up Spicy Dumpling 5.14d

Ethan Pringle has just sent an open project bolted by Chris Sharma in Yangshou, China just a few days before he is set to leave the area.

 

 

After fighting off stomach pains and bad weather Ethan Pringle was able to nab an open Sharma project in Yangshou, which he is calling Spicy Dumpling (5.14d).  The route, featured in a Mike Call short film, repelled Chris and fended off Pringle for three days before he finally was able to unlock both cruxes and send. The name is a play on the areas other hard Sharma route dubbed Spicy Noodle and in reference to the delicious dumplings Pringle has been consuming on his trip. Congrats Ethan!

 

 

Also, on a side note, it looks like Pringle has responded to his critics and bolted a new project at White Mountain. Pringle’s new line, which he bolted, has a bouldery V11 crux followed by sustained 5.13 climbing. Ethan is psyched about the new project and believes this would be a beautiful addition to the area.
