With the end of the Hueco season in sight, it seems as if everyone is rushing to get that last send in before the heat of the desert engulfs the crag for the next several months.  Dave Graham arrived just at the right moment and was able to walk away with Crook by the Book (V14)in the East Spur Maze.  The line saw its first ascent last December by Daniel Woods.

On his 8a.nu scorecard Graham describes the problem as, “an amazing compression problem with a subtle low percentage crux move.”  He also commented, “didn't think I could pull it off due to bruised tips and some heat issues, but managed to pull it off!  4 days, 8 moves, 2nd ascent...classy problem and props to DW's for opening this trail side masterpiece!”

The middle of March is generally the end of the Hueco season, but if everyone is willing to tough out the heat we still may see some hard problems go down.
