Daniel Woods Sends His First 14d (9a) Kinematix
Well known for his numerous V14s and V15 ascents in bouldering, Daniel Woods has recently turned his attention to the sport climbing game. In the past, Woods has shown his ability on a rope by dispatching some North American test pieces as hard as 5.14c, such as Livin' Astro in Rumney and Necessary Evil in Virgin River.
This fall while climbing at Gorges du Loup, France he sent Quenelle Trophy (5.14b) Total Eclatch (5.14c), and Triptik Tonik (5.14c). Currently on a European roadtrip, Daniel has been "Mobbin" with the crew of Joe Kinder John Cardwell, Dave Graham and others in Europe which has pushed Woods to up the ante on his sport climbing game. On September 25, 2009, Daniel completed his fist 14d (9a) with the ascent of Kinematix, an Andreas Bindhammer line that links together Total Eclatch (5.14c) and Honk (5.14a) pushing Woods to finally break his mental barrier and nab the ascent.
