Climbing News: Gabriele Moroni Sends the Last Extreme Project in Gressoney

Last week, Gabriele Moroni made the first ascent of what he calls, “Last extreme project in Gressoney!” The route, Elementi di Disturbo is 25 meters long, Gabriele breaks it down, “there are 10 easy vertical meters then the wall becomes steeper and the hardest part of the route begins which is...about 10 hard and technical moves on very bad holds at about 8a+. After the crux and a small shake it follows a resistant 8a section with some heinous moves!”

He first worked the project last summer but he got stuck unlocking the lurching crux sequence. He came back this year with no expectations but on his third day working the route he was able to fire it all the way to the top.

Gabriele stated that this is his proudest send and he really hopes someone will come out to work on the problem so that a grade can be confirmed. Currently, the suggested grade is 8c+/9a.
