Ben Blakney Grabs Second Ascent of Gun Control (V13)

Halifax, Nova Scotia may not seem like a bouldering mecca, but it still has hard boulder problems waiting to be sent. About a week ago Ben Blakney grabbed the second ascent of one of the hardest lines in the area. The route, Gun Control (V13), is an old Nick Sagar test piece that was put up in 2003.  It is a short, steep, blunt prow with virtually no holds and the ones that are present are apparently viciously small.

Ben had been working the line during several sessions but due to the nature of the sharp holds and his fitness level he had no success. When perfect temps arrived he made a bee-line for the problem, pulled all the moves together and grabbed the second ascent. Congrats Ben.
