AscenDance Presents Beyond Gravity

The AscenDance crew has created another mind-blowing performance dubbed Beyond Gravity. Read about their routine and learn details about their season opening show.

We first reported about the AscenDance crew about three months ago. The crew merges dance and climbing into an aerial performance. This is not your mom and pops dance routine every move in this performance requires musical precision and extreme core-tension along with complete trust. The routine is composed on an overhanging bouldering wall and we guarantee the crew’s moves will leave you more pumped then a 4 hour session with your friends. The AscenDance Project will be presenting their first home season at the Ashby Stage in Berkeley this spring in a series of performances beginning on March 5, 2010. If you are in the area we suggest you catch a show.

Andy Schmeder, Lara Mercurio, Elena Cochran, Martha Hazel, Susan Owen, Ryan Gaunt and Isabel von Rittberg compose the team that will be performing Beyond Gravity. Each is a climber and when they are not working the bouldering wall to perfect their routine they are pulling at their local gym. DPM was lucky enough to catch a closed rehearsal performance before the big show. Enjoy the images and come on down to support the show.
