11-year-old Cameron has redpointed his third 5.14a with Private Halfenheimer at Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Private Halfenheimer is a more difficult variation finish to Galactic Emperor, a 14a that Cameron sent just two weeks ago. After the crux section of Galactic, Private Halfenheimer breaks left into the finish of General Litzenheimer and offers a more intricate section of technical climbing on the upper wall.

Well-known training guru Eric Hörst (Cam's dad) commented on the ascent, "It's a longer link-up that climbs the top seven bolts (50 feet) of General Litzenheimer. Cam really struggled with reaches between some small holds and monos. So for him it felt like 5.13c/d linked into 5.13a/b."

Cam worked the route after finishing Galactic Emperor but wasn't able to send before the family headed to Colorado to visit some friends. Plans to climb in Colorado were thwarted due to hot temperatures so the Hörst clan made the long drive back to Ten Sleep, Wyoming for another shot at the route. "The gas and drive time paid off," said Eric. "And I think three days of rest helped him too. Now we're en route to Maple Canyon!"
