Yesterday in Oliana, Spain, Adam Ondra claimed the first ascent of Shaxi Raxi (5.15b) and onsighted another 5.14c! The route, Shaxi Raxi, was bolted by Chris Sharma who agreed to let Adam try it. After seven days of effort Adam clipped the chains. The forty-meter route begins with V14 bouldering that leads straight into a section of 5.14d/5.15a climbing.
Adam was able to send on his first effort of the day on the last day of his Spanish trip. With a little gas left in the tank, he was also able to onsight Blanquita (5.14c) before heading home. Blanquita was Adam’s fifth 5.14c onsight and the one that he considered the hardest. This day alone was a brilliant last day to what is perhaps the most groundbreaking couple of weeks in the history of sport climbing.
